Funeral services for Rae Stith were held Feb. 13 at Dockery Chapel Methodist Church, southwest of Trenton. Burial was in the Pilot Grove #2 Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Whitaker Eads Funeral Home, Trenton. Rae Stith, 88, former Jamesport resident, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Mrs. Stith was born April 6, 1920, in Jamesport, daughter to Harvey and Zoe Drummond Robinson. She graduated from Jamesport High School.
She married W.C. "Bill" Stith in Troy, Kan., on Feb. 13, 1937. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Stith had been employed as a cook for the Tri County School in Jamesport, and then later as a secretary for the Sensenich Lumber Yard, the Spillman Shuler Mausoleum Company and Spillman Insurance Agency, all of Jamesport.
She had been a 4-H leader and was a member of the Dockery Chapel Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, C.W. Robinson, and sisters, Francis Blizzard and Doris Van Dyke.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Jo Collins, Ft. Myers, Fla., Wilma Long, Stover, Carol Kline, Savannah, and Janet Van Dyke, Trenton; two sons, Gary Stith, Bowling Green, and Larry Stith, Chillicothe; three sisters, Norma Taylor, Trenton, Fae Teeter, St. Louis, and Maxine Gwinn, St. Louis; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
