Breanne Brammer, Gallatin FFA, was among six students competing at the FFA Pork Speaking Contest state finals, held on Feb. 11 at the 2009 Missouri Pork Expo.
Breanne received $50. Students qualified for the finals by winning their area, then district contest.
Chelsea Scheulen, a student with the Linn FFA program, won the competition, earning a plaque and a check for $200. Samantha Whittaker, a member of the Miller FFA chapter, placed second, earning $150. Andrew Fisher, from the Bowling Green FFA, finished third, earning $100. Also competing in the state finals were; Elle Miller, California FFA; and Amber Johnson, Couch FFA—each received $50.
MFA Incorporated sponsored the FFA Pork Speaking Contest, which took place during the 2009 Missouri Pork Expo, held Feb. 11-12 in Columbia. Pork producers from across the state enjoyed a trade show, producer education seminars and guest speakers.
