During a meeting of the Altamont-Winston Sewer Board held Feb. 2, Melvin McFee was hired as Sewer Operator by the Altamont-Winston Sewer Board with starting pay at $500 per month pending obtaining his class-D license, to increase to $625 per month when the license is obtained.

The board carried a motion to retain Joe Salmon to orient Mr. McFee to the position with payment of $15 per hour plus 40 cents per mile.

Arvella Eaton reported that Rob Hunt is remaining on the sewer board. She indicated a goal to shorten the meetings and meet quarterly.

The current lagoon license has not been located and a copy should be obtained from DNR.

Chairman Eaton presented a proposal to budget $500 for temporary clerical and administrative services and offer $10 per hour to get all documents organized, get the governing documents in order and updated, find out what is required for board operation, track budget income and expenditures, assess the ongoing time required to keep these things current and report to the board. The board moved to assign the duties to Lucille Lusk.
