The Northwest Regional Water Symposium IV has been scheduled for Friday, Jan. 30, from 1-3 p.m., at the Northwest Missouri State University student union ballroom.
Everyone interested in learning more about the Northwest regional water transmission project is encouraged to attend. The Missouri Governor’s office has been invited to deliver the keynote address for the symposium.
In addition, the results of the Phase II Corp of Engineers/MO Department of Natural Resources funded study for the regional water transmission project will be presented. The study addressed the feasibility of implementing the Phase I Regional Water Transmission Line project. It also reveals future long-term drinking water needs for the region. Cost factors, as they relate to partnering options with local water distribution systems, were also evaluated.
Bill Jarocki, Director of the Environmental Finance Center, will demonstrate a new analysis tool called the "Financial Dashboard" at this meeting. This interactive Dashboard helps viewers understand the dynamic relationships between the important cost factors of the water supply project. The Dashboard also provides an interactive worksheet for individual communities to use when determining how this project will produce both savings and new costs for their citizens.
