The Daviess County Library will be offering six computer classes at 10 a.m. beginning Thursday, Feb. 5.
These classes will be very basic and for those with no or very little computer experience.
The following classes will be taught:
ABC’s of Computers and Mousercise: This class will discuss the four basic components of the computer, the difference in hardware and software, common elements, and basic computer terms. It will include mouse training designed for beginners. Topics: Holding and pointing the mouse, clicking, radio, buttons, scrolling, menus, etc.
Basic Windows: This session will focus on learning Microsoft Windows. Topics: Opening and closing windows, multiple windows, scrollbars, and printing documents.
Basic Word: Learn the basics of word processing, using Microsoft. Topics: Opening the program, creating a new document, saving, and printing.
Intermediate Word: This class will examine some intermediate features of Microsoft’s word processing product. Topics: Changing color and font, inserting pictures, cutting and pasting, etc.
Exploring the Internet: This session focuses on using the Internet information you need. Topics: Searching techniques, understand terminology, and search engines.
E-Mail: This will include the basics of setting up an e-mail account, using yahoo.com. It will cover how to send and receive e-mail, how to manage your mail, create folders, forward messages, etc.
