The case was heard in Livingston County before Judge Stephen K. Griffin, on a change of venue. Dickson plead guilty to five counts of forgery on Sept. 25, 2008, on a plea agreement. At that time 23 forgery counts were dismissed.

On Dec. 10, he was sentenced to five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on the first count of forgery, consecutive to five years on the second count of forgery. The execution of sentence was suspended, and he was placed on five years probation. On the last three forgery counts, he received a suspended imposition of sentence and five years probation. Conditions of probation include 30 days shock time on each count (150 days less 20 days previously served), to be served consecutively in the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail on weekends and holidays.

Dickson made full restitution of all fire district funds in July, according to the Daviess County Prosecutor’s office.
