A Pattonsburg man received minor injuries in an accident at Hwy. 69, one mile south of Winston.
According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, at about 7:09 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, Elijah Knowles, 25, was southbound on Hwy. 69. He entered a curve and lost control of his 2002 Ford on the ice-covered roadway and slid off the east side of the road. The vehicle struck a fence and came to rest upright.
Mr. Knowles was taken by private vehicle to Cameron Regional Medical Center. He was wearing his seat belt.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. P. Kimball, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
A Gilman City woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 9:10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, in Harrison County.
According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, Tonia Parsons, 42, was northbound on Hwy. 146 about one mile south of Blue Ridge. A vehicle driven by Harold Henley, 59, Mercer, was southbound. Ms. Parsons crossed the center line at the crest of the hill and struck the towed unit driven by Mr. Henley.
Ms. Parsons 1995 Chevrolet pickup came to rest northbound on the roadway. Mr. Henley’s 2004 Dodge pickup came to rest southbound on the roadway.
Ms. Parson was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital by Noel T. Adams Ambulance of Bethany. It is not known whether she was wearing her seat belt.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. T. Heintz, assisted by Tpr. B. Israel, Tpr. M. Stamer and the Harrison County Sheriff.
Summons pending Ms. Parsons.
A South Dakota man received minor injuries in an accident at about 11:07 a.m. on Dec. 16 in Daviess County, seven miles south of Pattonsburg.
According to the patrol’s report, two semis were southbound on I-35 and were being passed by a third semi. Both drivers had their vision obscured by blowing snow from the passing tractor-trailer. A 1996 Freightliner driven by Douglas Peterson, 42, Rosholt, S.D., struck a 2009 Peterbilt being driven by Antonio Fernandez, 48, Red Oak, Texas, in the rear. Mr. Peterson’s semi came to rest in the southbound driving lane of I-35. The semi driven by Mr. Fernandez came to rest on the outside shoulder.
Mr. Peterson stated he would seek his own medical attention later. He was wearing his seatbelt.
The accident was investigated by Sgt. L.M. Allen, assisted by Tpr. J.P. Lynch.
