Wayne and Janel Culver of Gallatin announce the engagement of their son Jon Culver to Alisha Newman, daughter of Jerry and Kristi Newman of Labadie.

Jon received a B.S. degree in business administration from the University of Missouri in 2003. He is currently employed by Shelter Insurance in Columbia as a senior underwriter. Alisha is a 2005 graduate of Truman State University, where she received a B.S. degree in business administration with a concentration in finance. She is employed by Shelter Insurance in Columbia as a life insurance underwriter. The couple plan a July 4, 2009, wedding at the Firestone Baars Chapel in Columbia.
