Musical Notes

Grant Hartley performed in the All-District Choir concert held Saturday, Oct. 25, at Platte City. Mrs. Barnes, North Daviess music instructor, accompanied him to the concert.

North Daviess music students are preparing for the annual Christmas concert on December 12. This year some students will be singing a new "reggae" style number. They will also perform a spoof on "Deck the Halls." The piece includes four variations to the tune of the William Tell Overture, Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, Strauss’ Blue Danube Waltz, and the 1812 Overture.

North Daviess has been asked by the Trenton Rotary Club to present a Christmas program in December. The performance will be at 7 p.m. on a date to be announced later. Parents are invited.

Dana Dube, Felicite Kennedy and Grant Hartley auditioned for the Grand River Harmony Chorus on October 20. Grant was chosen as one of five finalists. He performed with the Grand River Harmony Chorus in their concert on November 9 at Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe. Placement of the four finalists who performed was determined by audience vote. Grant sang "Shout to the Lord" and received fourth place and a $50 prize.
