Ovid Lavoie, 36, Kemner, Minn., was arrested Nov. 25 in Salem, Ore., for theft/stealing, class C felony. The theft occurred at the Winston Truck Stop on Sept. 4, 2003. A briefcase was taken from a pickup belonging to Robert Clark. Lavoie was stopped the next day by the Iowa State Patrol with credit cards and other items belonging to Clark in his possession. Lavoie is being held on $25,000 bond.
David Wayne Cameron, 31, Pattonsburg, was arrested Nov. 24 , charged with possession of controlled substance, class C felony, and misdemeanor DWI – alcohol, and speeding. Bond was set at $35,000.
Daniel Merrill, 23, Fountain Hills, Ariz., was picked up in Maricopa County, Arizona on a probation violation for possession of controlled substance, class C felony. Bond was denied.
Trevor Hunter, 19, Coffey, was arrested Nov. 22 for misdemeanor attempt to purchase liquor by minor. He posted $150 bond. His bond was revoked on Nov. 24, on felony charges of burglary and property damage in connection with multiple burglaries which occurred in northern Daviess County in August, 2008.
Joshua McCartney, 24, McFall, was arrested Nov. 22 for misdemeanor supplying liquor to a minor. He posted $500 bond.
Carl Holcomb Jr., 28, Chillicothe, was arrested Nov. 18 on a Harrison County warrant for misdemeanor bad checks. He posted $250 bond.
Edgar Urzua, 21, Bloomington, Minn., was charged Nov. 21 with misdemeanor no valid license. He posted $500 bond.
Associate Circuit Court
Defendants found guilty in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County are listed below with the offense and fine assessed. Additionally, court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $66.50 for moving traffic violations and $114.50 in most criminal cases.
Brandon T. Jones, Holden, drove commercial vehicle without commercial license, $150.
Jill D. Horvatin, Gallatin, driving while intoxicated, $350; failure to drive on right half of roadway, $100.
Brian R. Sharp, St. Joseph, operated motorcycle when license not validated for such, suspended imposition of sentence, two years probation, 30 hours community service.
Lee A. Grawe, Cameron, driving while intoxicated probation violation, probation revoked, 30 days jail.
Audra Jo Herchenroder, Cameron, driving while intoxicated, prior offender, five days jail (board bill paid by defendant), ignition interlock order.
Kurtis Russell, Kansas City, driving while intoxicated, suspended imposition of sentence, two years probation, 30 hours community service; failure to drive in right lane, $38.50; no seat belt, $10.
Charles Batalia, Pittsburg, Kan., domestic assault probation violation, probation revoked, 20 days jail, suspended execution of sentence, two years probation.
Kyle R. Kieler, Bevington, Iowa, driving while intoxicated, prior offender, 10 days jail (board bill paid by defendant), ignition interlock order, abuse and lose order; minor in possession of alcohol, 48 hours jail (board bill paid by defendant).
Adam J. Crawford, Grandview, no valid license, 48 hours jail (board bill paid by defendant), speeding, $58.50.
Traffic Fines
The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $964 for 14 tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $500 for 16 cases. Court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $56.50 for moving traffic violations. Missouri defendants, offenses and fines are listed below:
Followed another vehicle too closely: Robert S. Dunn, Kansas City, $103.50.
Speeding: Harrison S. Hamilton, Lee’s Summit, $88.50; Tara E. Murfield, St. Louis, $28.50; Charles H. McCormick, Parkville, $28.50; Gary D. Reid, Oak Grove, $28.50.
Failure to register with vehicle: Kimberly J. Gravesman, Jamesport, $38.50.
No insurance: Laura L. Burton, Bethany, $10.
No seat belt: Kyle S. Ulmer, Chillicothe, $10; Cody Brown, Trenton, $10.
Russell Prescott, Jamesport, was fined $28.50 for failure to stop at stop sign and $10 for no seat belt.
Jonathan B. Ranes, Jamesport, was fined $38.50 for failure to register annually; $10 on each of two count of no seat belt; $38.50 for failure to drive on right half or road; and $18.50 for failure to display valid plates.
Civil Court
Breach of contract: A default judgment was entered for Erin Capital and against Gary Wynne.
Marriages
Judge Daren Adkins officiated at the following marriages: David Allen Coe Taylor and Delana Christine Gardner, both of Jamesport, on Nov. 19; Michael Lee Parton and Mary Dolores Padilla, both of Trenton, on Nov. 21; Terrance Jason Hoover and Elizabeth Lee Meador, both of Pattonsburg, on Nov. 21.
Circuit Court
On Nov. 19, the following cases were dismissed without prejudice: Kimberly Thomas vs. Bryan Thomas, dissolution of marriage; James L. Russell vs. Jenny A. Russell, dissolution of marriage; Bobbie Gray vs. Jesse Gray, dissolution of marriage; Richard R. Swetnam vs. Director of Revenue; Lisa M. Stevenson vs. Christopher M. Stevenson, dissolution of marriage.
In Citifinancial Inc. vs. Harry Daniel Skinner, a default judgment was entered in favor of the plaintiff for a sum of $17,321.76. The plaintiff is also entitled to possession of a 2004 Harley Davidson, interest and attorney fees.

Rudy A. Gingerich plead guilty to non-support, class D felony. The sentence assessment report was waived, and he received a suspended imposition of sentence and five years probation.
State vs. Janellda S. Weber was transferred to DeKalb County. The charge is possession of controlled substance at correctional facility.

County Commission
Bills were audited and paid.
The Daviess County Extension Council met with the commission regarding future plans. They also submitted the 2009 budget request.
Craig Lambert, Salem Township, met with the commission concerning equipment and bridge easement problems.
Kevin Heldenbrand, Sheriff, met with the commission with paperwork from a federal grant. Funding was sent to the Missouri Sheriff’s Association who then paid the invoices directly to the vendors after submission by the county department. The clerk will hold the file for auditing purposes. The prosecuting attorney was given copies of the pertinent documents.
Ben Becerra, sheriff-elect, contacted the commission regarding a training program for new sheriffs to be held in December. He was advised to keep all receipts and submit them for reimbursement in February.
These are the approved minutes of Nov. 17, 2008. All commissioners were present, as well as commissioner-elect David Cox.
