Funeral services for Annabelle Reynolds were held Tuesday at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial was at Civil Bend Christian Cemetery, Pattonsburg. Memorials may be made to the Pattonsburg Senior Citizens Center.

Annabelle Reynolds, 96, Pattonsburg, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Reynolds was born on March 15, 1912, to Simon Jones and Bertha Leona (Duffy) Riggs in Civil Bend. She grew up in Civil Bend and attended school there, graduating in 1930.

On Nov. 13, 1932, she married Guy Russell Cornett in Pattonsburg. They resided in Pattonsburg and operated the old Shaw filing station until his unexpected passing in April of 1941.

On March 15, 1942, she was united in marriage to Sanford Owen Reynolds in Nortonville, Kan. They made their home in Gallatin. He passed away in July of 1974.

Mrs. Reynolds attended the united Methodist Church in Gallatin where she was a Sunday school and Bible School teacher. She was a charter member of the Jolly Workers Club and a 4-H leader. Mrs. Reynolds worked at the Ben Franklin store until 1969 when she moved to North Kansas City to help her son Robert. Once there she got a job at the Gracemoor Elementary School as a cook. She retired from the school on October 1, 1977. Upon her retirement she moved back to Civil Bend to take care of her mother Bertha, until her passing. There she attended the Civil Bend United Methodist Church, and later the Word of Life Christian Fellowship Church in Pattonsburg.

Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Bertha Riggs; two sons, Colin and Robert Cornett, one sister, Dorothy Burton; one brother, J.M. Riggs, one great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.

Survivors include four sons, Carl Cornett and Sanford Reynolds, both of Pattonsburg, Jerry Reynolds of Lee’s Summit, and Duffey Reynolds of Cameron; one daughter, Cheryl Knisely of Warrensburg; one sister, Loleta Middleton of St. Joseph; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
