City Administrator Zac Johnson told the Gallatin Board of Aldermen that he is looking into purchasing a used truck for the electric department during their regular meeting held Nov. 10. The cost of the truck will be approximately $10,000.

Police Chief Mark Richards reported on activity from Oct. 17 to Nov. 10 with the following reports taken and tickets given: two uninvited solicitors; one no insurance; one assist other agency; one stealing; two property damage; one u-turn; one careless driving; one stealing from auto. There are three dogs in the pound.

Chief Richards gave an update on the Arrive Alive campaign that the police are working on with the school.

Bills in the amount of $166,703.72 were approved for payment.

During old business, the board discussed the old street roller. It was decided to order the parts to repair the roller.

The financial statement was discussed during new business, as was the 2009 budget and outstanding utility accounts.

During comments by aldermen, concerns were expressed regarding the newly painted fire hydrants.
