The Jamesport Community Association is gearing up for the first annual antique consignment auction which will be held the third Saturday each January.

Funeral arrangements for Ralph Keil were held by McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin. Mr. Keil bequeathed his body to science.
Sheriff’s Office
An attempted abduction was reported to the sheriff’s office on Oct. 19. The incident occurred at the corner of Auberry Grove and Elm Street in Jamesport. An 11-year-old juvenile reported that a man in a dark purple Hummer asked her if she needed a ride home. When she refused, the man grabbed her shirt and tried to drag her to the vehicle. The juvenile escaped from the man and ran home. The subject is described as white, medium build, no facial hair, wearing a Red Sox baseball cap and a red Chiefs sweatshirt. The case was investigated by Deputy Phillip Berry.
Sheriff Heldenbrand advised that this little girl did the right thing by screaming and running away. He said kids need to be aware of their surroundings. Parents need to instruct their kids how to act if someone tries to force them to get into a vehicle. "Don’t go willingly," he said. "Do anything you can to draw attention to yourself."
The Daviess County Health Department will begin vaccinating children/adolescents ages six months through 18 years, starting Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and every Tuesday while supplies last.
Graveside memorial service and inurnment for William Ashworth will be held Monday, Oct. 27, at the Mooresville Cemetery in Mooresville. Arrangements were Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton. Mr. Ashworth chose to be cremated.

Coffey Post Office will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, and at 12:30 there will be an official swearing in ceremony for the new postmaster, Teresa Nighthart.
