Michael Gene (Monk) Taylor, 55, Altamont, passed away on Oct. 12, 2008.
Michael was born on Sept. 10, 1953 in St. Louis, Mo., to Wesley and Virginia Taylor.
Michael worked for B&G Services in Kansas City, Mo., for 21 years.
Michael never knew a stranger. He was a friend to everyone he ever met. He knew how to bring a smile to anyone’s face.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Virginia Taylor; brother, John Taylor; sister, Nina Thompson and sister, Carlina Maples.
Michael is survived by his soul mate, Mary E. Claibourn, seven daughters, Denise Masoner, Kansas City, Mo., Wendy Claibourn, Winston; Stacy Claibourn, Altamont; April Myers, Altamont; Shauna Phoung, Gallatin; Michelle O’Dell, Altamont and Helen Taylor, Kansas City; two sons, Daniel Masoner, Kansas City, Mo and Michael Masoner, Kansas City, Kan.; one son-in-law Jeffrey Stevens, Altamont; two brothers, Robert and Frank Taylor, five sisters, Charlotte; Charlene; Jennie Mae; Nettie Jo and Patricia; 27 grandchildren and many more relatives and friends.
Services were held Friday, Oct. 17 at Grandview Baptist Church, Kansas City, Kan., with burial at Floral Hills Cemetery, Raytown, Mo.
We will be having a life celebration for friends and family at the Winston Cemetery, Winston, Mo., on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 1 p.m.
Michael (Monk) Taylor will always be loved and missed by many and he will never be forgotten.
