Gallatin R-5 senior Sydney Elbert shot a round of 99 to finish in eighth place at Thursday’s Class 1, District 7 competition held in St. Joseph, thus earning all-district honors and a trip to next week’s state tournament.

The Savannah Lady Savages won the district team title and turned in four of the top ten individual scores, including Kate Gallagher’s medalist round of 70 (two under par). However, the top 10 individuals, not on the state qualifying team, qualify for medalist play in the state tournament.
Gallatin’s Sara Smith shot 117 to finish just off the state-qualifying pace. Hamilton’s Lindsey Finch shot a 92 to finish fourth and will compete at state.
The MSHSAA Class 1 State Golf Tournament will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Fremont Hills Country Club in Nixa.
