A Winston teenager received minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at about 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20.
According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, April Hall, 17, was southbound on Hwy. 69. About four miles north of Cameron her 1998 Dodge Ram ran off the west side of the roadway. April overcorrected and her pickup overturned twice, coming to rest on its wheels facing southeast.
She was taken to Cameron Regional Hospital by Daviess County Ambulance.
The Dodge Ram was totaled.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. B.E. Mauldin, assisted by Tpr. T.I. Goolsby, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department and KAW Fire.
Summons pending.
A 2007 Ford Police Interceptor was involved in an accident while it was stationary on the highway at about 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, in Harrison County.
According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, Sgt. Larry Allen, 40, of Kidder had pulled over Matthew Jones, 23, of Blue Springs for a traffic violation. Allen’s patrol car and Mr. Jones’ 2004 Ford Focus were stationary on the southbound shoulder of I-35 about six miles south of Bethany. Both drivers were standing outside of their vehicles.
A 2001 Mack semi-tractor trailer, driven by Michael McGonigal, 27, of Winterset, Iowa, drove off onto the west shoulder, struck the patrol car in the driver’s side rear, continued southbound and struck the Ford Focus in the driver’s side rear, then continued southbound for a short distance and came to rest on the southbound shoulder.
No injury information is available for this accident.
The patrol car was totaled. The Ford focus and semi had minor damage.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. M. Wilhoit, assisted by Lt. J. McDonald, Cpl. H. Cowan, Tpr. M. Starmer, CVO Chief M. McCartney and CVO K. Shewey.
Summons issue to Mr. McGonigal for failure to slow/move over for stationary emergency vehicle, and failure to drive within right half of roadway resulting in an accident.
Two people from Chillicothe were moderately injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at about 8:01 p.m. on Sept. 17 in Daviess County.
Kevin Kelley, 49, Chillicothe, was southbound on Hwy. 190. At Reel Road, about four miles south of Jamesport, his Lincoln Aviator traveled off the west side of the roadway, struck a culvert, and came to rest in the ditch.
Mr. Kelly and a passenger, Mary Kelley, 48, were both taken to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe. They were wearing their seat belts.
The Lincoln was totaled.
The accident was investigated by Trp. T. Goolsby, assisted by Cpl. J. Shirley, Tpr. A McAtee and the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
No summons was issued.
