The Lady Bulldogs made the long trip to Grant City on Tuesday seeking to stay in the Grand River Conference race and not really knowing what to expect from a traditionally sound Lady Tiger team that recently fell to Stanberry in extra innings. The Lady Bulldogs scored twice in the top of the 10th inning to come away with an important 6-4 win that upped their GRC record to 3-1.

Ashley Owens, Maggie Strange and Shelby Chadwick each contributed a pair of hits against the Lady Tigers. Carly Boyd earned the win on the mound by striking out six batters.
With only two weeks left in the conference season, Gallatin finds itself battling South Harrison, King City and Hamilton for supremacy. South Harrison and King City were scheduled to play each other Tuesday afternoon. Gallatin’s final two GRC games are against Hamilton and King City.

The Lady Bulldogs fell to Mid-Buchanan, 5-4, on Monday in non-conference play. Owens led Gallatin at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a triple and run scored. Chadwick doubled and scored. Nicole Everman had both a hit and run. Wren Tolen also contributed a hit with an rbi.
Gallatin shut out Maysville, 7-0, and Stanberry, 11-0, last week in GRC play. Strange carried the big stick against the Wolverines, hitting a home run over the fence as part of a two-hit day. Boyd got the win on the mound.

Gallatin pummeled Stanberry in the opening two innings, scoring five runs in each to hint at a run-shortened game to follow. Owens tripled and singled to lead GHS batters. Ray and Strange each doubled and walked twice. Chadwick singled twice and got the victory on the mound.
