The Pattonsburg R-2 Board of Education accepted the resignation of board member Diane Hulet during its regular meeting held Sept. 15. Lincoln Cornett, board secretary, certified with the Board of Education that there is a vacancy due to Ms. Hulet’s resignation. Ms. Hulet resigned due to personel reasons.

Bills in the amount of $158,119.83 were approved for payment.

Rita Russell from the Westbrook Auditing Firm discussed the 2007-2008 audit with the board. The audit report was approved.

Mrs. Brady reported an elementary enrollment of 94.

A smart board and projector for the elementary computer lab has been purchased with the elementary fund-raiser proceeds from last spring.

Mrs. Cornett expressed appreciation to Jeff Bowland, Marcie and Tim Baily, Jordan and Gage Talbert, Leslie Gardner and Ronnie Gardner for their efforts in preparing the softball field for the HDC Conference Tournament on Sept. 13. Although it was not likely that these games would be played, this group’s dedication and determination allowed the HDC Softball tournament to continue.

The M.U.S.I.C. insurance renewal was approved.

The MSIP Waiver Review report was discussed and a recommendation for classification was presented at the Sept.12 State Board of Education meeting. The MSIP Review went well.

The board gave approval to renew the certificate of deposit.

A motion was made to enter executive session to consider personnel. Upon returning to open session, Amy Huffman was hired for the temporary cook position.
