Funeral services for Marjorie Blanton were held Monday at Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Joseph. Interment was at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph.

Marjorie H. Blanton, 84, St. Joseph, died Sept. 10, 2008, at the Living Community of St. Joseph.
Mrs. Blanton was born April 23, 1924, in Gallatin. She was graduated from Benton High School in St. Joseph, where she spent most of her life.
She married Eugene V. Blanton on April 5, 1942. He preceded her in death Nov. 16, 1987.
Mrs. Blanton was a manager for Jesse James Motel and a homemaker.
She also was also preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Nora (Stout) McLaughlin; six brothers, Delbert, Bill, Jack, Jim, Ronnie and Donald Lee McLaughlin; and her sister, Vena Roberts.
Survivors include four children, Dennis E. Blanton, Patty Allen and Peggy Tyler, all of St. Joseph, and Rick Blanton, Sandy, Utah; three sisters, Ellen Shelton, St. Joseph; Connie Midyett, Riverside, Calif.; and Myrna Trepte, Downey, Calif.; one brother, Frank McLaughlin, Sterling, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
