Funeral services for Bette Mires were held Saturday at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio. Burial was at Ohio Cemetery, Burlington Junction. Memorials may be made Bette Mires Memorial Fund.

Bette La Rue Mires, 83, of Burlington Junction, died Sept. 8, 2008, at the Nodaway Nursing Home in Maryville.
Mrs. Mires was preceded in death by her parents, Linwood and Roselah (Barrett) Singleton; husband, Presley Mires; grandson, Michael Douglas; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include children, Robert Mires, Gallatin; Richard Mires, Burlington Junction; Gina Douglas, Conroe, Texas; David Mires, St. Joseph; and D’Ann Mires, Tarkio; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
