Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at about 9:40 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, in Daviess County.

According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, Donald Miller, 32, Trenton, was eastbound on Hwy. 69 and Gerald Luce, 55, Leon, Iowa, was stationary at a stop sign located at the bottom of the off ramp from southbound I-35 onto Hwy. 69. Mr. Luce failed to yield to Mr. Miller and stuck his vehicle in the passenger side.

Mr. Miller’s 1994 Chevrolet S-10 pickup came to rest on its wheels in the middle of Hwy. 69 facing south. Mr. Luce’s 1998 Ford Contour came to rest facing westbound in the eastbound lane of Hwy. 69.

Mr. Miller received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. He was not wearing his seat belt. Glenda Luce, 51, Leon, Iowa, a passenger in Gerald Luce’s vehicle, received moderate injuries and was taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center. She was not wearing her seat belt.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. T. Goolsby, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.

Summons issued to Mr. Luce for failure to yield.
