Sheriff’s Office
Additional charges are pending against Trevor Hunter and Justin Nalle, who were charged with multiple felonies, as reported last week, in connection with burglaries which occurred in the north part of Daviess County. Two additional burglaries have been reported. The victims are David Ellis of Jamesport and Larry Harris of Independence, who owns property in the Coffey area. The sheriff’s office is working to return the stolen property to the victims of these burglaries.
Ron Silkwood, 35, and Robin Bryson, 33, both of Jameson, were charged Sept. 6 with felony possession of controlled substance, and misdemeanor endangering welfare of a child. Silkwood was also charged with misdemeanor domestic assault. They are each being held on $35,000 bond.
Michael Cook, 31, Shoreview, Minn., was arrested Sept. 5 for misdemeanor DWI and no valid license. He posted $1,000 bond.
Lucas Moore, 27, Kansas City, was charged Sept. 6 with failure to appear on an original misdemeanor charge of no valid license. He is being held on $600 bond.
Pierre L. Washington, 22, Chicago, Ill., was arrested Sept. 2 for misdemeanor no valid license. He posted $500 bond.
Jaime Morrill, 31, Gallatin, was arrested Sept. 3 for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge of passing bad checks. He posted $2,000 bond and also $550 bond for DeKalb County on the same charge.
County Commission
James Lewis, bridge supervisor, reported that they are continuing with flood repairs.
Denny Strein, Salem Township landowner, met with the commission regarding the upgrading of a road in that township. He will remove the brush.
The commission contacted the Caldwell County Commission regarding the billing of a low water crossing on the county line. The county paid one-half of the costs.
Vicki Corwin, Fine Arts Council, met with the commission updating them on Chautauqua plans the third weekend in September.
Zac Johnson, Gallatin City Administrator, met with the commission regarding cooperative projects.
The FEMA representative met with the commission regarding the progress of repairs in the county and townships following the flood.

Daviess County Assessor Betty Harmison has returned from a three-day assessor’s conference in Branson, where she attended training sessions.
Circuit Court
Shiloh B. McClelland appeared before Judge Daren Adkins on Sept. 8, where he admitted probation violations on an original charge of DWI, persistent offender. His probation was continued for one year with the additional condition of 15 days shock jail time.
