Duane and Ruth Frost of Gallatin will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at the First Christian Church in Gallatin.

They were married on Sept. 14, 1958, at the United Methodist Church in Altamont by Rev. John Gooding. They have lived in Gallatin all their lives except for one year in St. Joseph in 1960-61 when Duane worked for Miller Chevrolet in the parts department.

Duane and Ruth moved back to Gallatin and Duane worked for Gallatin Motor Co., as parts manager until November, 1981. In November, 1981, they opened their automotive parts store in Gallatin and operated it until April, 1998, when they sold the store and retired. Previously Ruth worked for the ASCS Office, University of Missouri Extension Office, and Daviess County Soil and Water Conservation District.

Duane and Ruth celebrated their anniversary early when they enjoyed an Alaskan cruise/tour in May.

Their children are Dr. Greg Frost and companion Sheila Middleton and her son Sam, Vandalia; Debbie and husband John Krummel, Red Oak, Iowa; and Dr. Mark and wife Jenny Frost, Parkville. They have five grandsons, Brandon and Matthew Krummel, Tyson Frost and Gavin and Spencer Frost. One granddaughter, Stephanie Frost, is deceased.
