Fall sports were discussed during the regular meeting of the Gallatin Park Board held Thursday, Aug. 21.

Flag football season is from Sept. 27 through Oct. 25 and will be open to children four-years-old through sixth grade. Registration is due Sept. 10.

Final details regarding the ribbon cutting ceremony for the walking trail will be held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 7 during a special meeting. The ribbon cutting has been set for Sept. 20. Christmas in the Park will also be discussed at the special meeting.

A motion was made to not hand out Halloween treats at the park this year. Halloween is on Friday and there will be a football game.

Chemicals for the pond are in. Alan Bradford’s sprayer will be used if it can be fixed.

An outside water faucet is broken and a picnic table is in need of welding repairs. Chemicals needed for the lower restrooms will be ordered from online. A company needs to be found to pump the restrooms.

A motion carried for the board to hire an electrician to fix the light switch on the new shelter building as well as install outlets. The scoreboard will also be looked at.

Next years mowing and baseball field prep were discussed.

The treasure’s report was presented and bills paid totaling $11,945.48.

The next regular park board meeting is Sept. 18.
