Funeral services for Charles Kibbe, Sr., were held Monday at Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Joseph. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph.

(Chuck) Kibbe Sr., 80, St. Joseph, died Aug. 21, 2008, at a North Kansas City Hospital.
Mr. Kibbe was born Nov. 19, 1927, in Mount Ayr, Iowa.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Mr. Kibbe married Dorothy Louise Schubert on April 27, 1957. She preceded him in death on Oct. 10, 1992.
Mr. Kibbe was a section foreman for the Burlington Railroad, retiring after 44 years of service.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Henry Arthur and Ollie Mae (Kimble) Kibbe; sister, Mary Ellen Green; brothers, Robert, Dick, and John Henry Kibbe
Mr. Kibbe was a member of the American Legion Post 357.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Louise Kibbe and Karen Kay Carr, both of St. Joseph, and Sandra Dee Werner, Jamesport; four sons, Benny F. Kibbe and Charles W. Kibbe, both of St. Joseph, Mike and Monty Doolin, both of Kansas; four brothers, Don Kibbe, Mount Ayr, Dean Kibbe, San Jose, Calif., John Kibbe, Portland, Ore., and Dave Kibbe, Corning, Iowa; three sisters, Dorothy Stutlemeier, Columbia, Barbara Foland and Patricia Musick, both of Grant City; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
