The occasion was also a surprise honoring Loren Worley’s 80th birthday, four months early, by his brother and six sisters that were present.

All came with well-filled baskets of food. Sue Bottom returned thanks. In the afternoon a raffle drawing of hand-made items was held and $100 was raised and given to the Whitt Cemetery fund.

Picture-taking, croquet playing, phone calls, photos, reminiscing and remarks from knowing Loren over the years was enjoyed. All sang the birthday song to him. Birthday cake and ice cream was served to 77 present.

The three elderly aunts present were Mary Whitt Kritser of Yorkville, Ill., Virginia Lancaster of Phoenix, Ariz., and Marilyn Worley of Cameron. Two new babies present were Tye D. Dowell, two weeks, Gallatin, and Olivia L. Hughes, four weeks, Papillion, Neb.

The Whitt-Worley cousins came from Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Kansas, Illinois, Wisconsin and Missouri. Several are still visiting in this area and with further get-togethers planned.
