Linda Littrell was approved for the business position during the regular meeting of the Winston R-VI Board of Education held Tuesday, July 15.
The board gave permission to the Parent Teacher Organization to use the school ball field and concession stand on Aug. 16 for a co-ed ball tournament.
Bus routes for the 2008-2009 school year were approved.
Board Policy updates were approved with changes to policy 1430 — no registered sex offenders will be allowed on school property, and excluding policy 2656 regarding the student cell phone policy.
The sick leave pool was dissolved and the board approved returning donated days back to participants.
Bid for propane at $1.979 were accepted from Maysville MFA Oil and from Anderson Erickson for dairy products. No bids were accepted for diesel.
There will be no change in student lunch and breakfast prices, but the board did agree to charge teachers $2 for lunch rather than the current price of $2.50.
Steve Yost, superintendent of Hamilton schools, discussed construction information and presented information to the school board regarding the process Hamilton did in financing/building the elementary school there.
The tax rate hearing was set for Aug. 21st at 6:45 p.m.
Next regular board meeting will be on Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. in the library
