Funeral services for James White will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Family visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Friends may call after 11 a.m. today (Wednesday). Graveside services and burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, at the Rose Hill Country Cemetery at Randolph, Neb. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.

James E. White, 64, died Monday, July 21, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center.

Mr. White was born on Jan. 20, 1944, to James and Betty (Conkling) White Sr. in Kansas City, Kan. He graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City, Kan., in 1962. After graduation Mr. White attended a local college for two years.

He married Judith Sipes in 1964. He then owned and operated a bakery for many years in Kansas City, Kan. During that time he was also a sheep and cattle rancher. After retiring from the bakery he became a full-time rancher.

In 2006, he moved to a farm south of Gallatin.

On Oct. 19, 2007, Mr. White was united in marriage to Arlis Manzer in Norfolk, Neb. The couple remained on the farm near Gallatin and continued to raise sheep, retiring a few months ago.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Elizabeth Kelly; grandson Jacob Kelly, and two brothers, Lou and Lee White.

Survivors include his wife, Arlis; one daughter, Julie Klaudt of Shawnee, Kan.; one sister, Mary Osborn of Gladstone; and three grandchildren.
