Graveside services and burial for Venora Burton were held Saturday, July 12, at Civil Bend Methodist Cemetery near Pattonsburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gallatin Regional Care Hospice or Civil Bend Methodist Cemetery in care of the funeral home.

Venora Burton, 96, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at the Lake Viking Health Care Center in Gallatin.
Mrs. Burton was born Nov.12, 1911, to Frank and Leola (Mason) Pittsenbarger in the rural Pattonsburg area. She attended the Round Top Country School near Pattonsburg.
She was united in marriage to Harold T. Burton, Feb. 14, 1937, in Cameron. He preceded her in death in 1980 after 43 years of marriage. The couple made their home in rural Pattonsburg for a couple of years before moving to the farm they purchased east of Jameson where they lived all of their married life. Mrs. Burton continued to live on the farm until moving to Gallatin in 2005.
She was a member of the Jameson Baptist Church.
Mrs. Burton was preceded in death by her parents, son, Arthur Lee Burton in 1980, grandsons, Don Moore in 2006 and Terry Burton, and three brothers; Raymond, Leo and Frank Pittsenbarger.
Survivors include two sons, Glen Burton and Rex Burton, both of Gallatin; nine grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.
