Pearl Robinson, 91, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at the Lake Viking Health Care Center in Gallatin.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 18, at the First Christian Church in Gallatin. Family visitation will be held Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the church. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial will be at the Bethal Cemetery north of Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gallatin First Christian Church Building Fund, or Bethel Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
Pearl was born June 2, 1917, to Edward and Ellen (Blankenship) Smith in Jameson. She attended school at Jameson.
Pearl was united in marriage to Junior Robinson on May 16, 1934, in Trenton. He preceded her in death in 1974, after 40 years of marriage. The couple made their home in and around Gallatin.
Junior and Pearl owned and operated the Robinson Coin Laundry for 10 years. Pearl later became a nurse’s aid at the Daviess County Care Center, retiring in 1983. She took great pride in caring for her patients.
Pearl loved to travel and enjoyed seeing new places. She also enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Kansas City Royals.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Gallatin, the Friendly Homemakers, Eastern Star, the Blake Community Club, and National Farmers Organization. She enjoyed the fellowship she shared at church, coin laundry, and the nursing home. She loved to visit with her family and friends. Pearl’s kind and gentle nature will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Carl, John and George Smith, sisters, Alice Myers and Dorothy Brown, daughter, Martha Sloan, two granddaughters, Connie Joe and Cathy Lynn Pittsenbarger, and her son-in-law Larry Pittsenbarger.
Pearl is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Pittsenbarger of Gallatin, and four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
