A Gallatin man was involved in a patrol car accident at about 12:05 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, in DeKalb County.

Bradley Maudlin, 23, was traveling northbound on Rt. EE, five miles north of Cameron, to assist DeKalb County on a call for service. He attempted to negotiate a curve and lost control of his vehicle. The patrol car traveled off the east side of the roadway, returned to the roadway, and traveled off the west side of the roadway. The vehicle spun one complete time and traveled over a concrete retaining wall, striking the concrete retaining wall on the other side of the creek bed. The vehicle came to rest in the creek on its wheels.

Trooper Maudlin was treated at Heartland Regional Medical Center for minor injuries and released.

The 2007 Ford Crown Victoria was totaled and towed to Troop H by Scotty’s of Cameron. Estimated cost of damage was $12,000-15,000.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. J.P. Lynch, assisted by Capt. D.L. Robinson, Lt. W.E. Benitz, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, Cameron Police Department and Cameron Ambulance.

A Cedar Rapids, Iowa, woman was moderately injured in a one vehicle accident occurring at about 8:55 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, in Daviess County.

According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, Justin M. Hammond, 33, Cedar Rapids, was southbound on I-35. His vehicle traveled off the east side of the roadway and struck a guard rail, rotated after impact, and came to rest facing north on the roadway.

A passenger, Rebecca J. Hammond, 36, a passenger in the 1998 Nissan, was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center by NTA Ambulance Service. She was not wearing her seat belt.

The Nissan was extensively damaged and towed by Bridgeman’s Tow of Altamont.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. L.M. Newman, assisted by Sgt. L.M. Allen, and Tpr. J.S. Johnson.
