During their regular meeting held Wednesday, May 14, the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen said they would like for Vance Bros. to look at the streets to see how much it is going to cost to have them repaired.

Richard Mooney, economic developer, reported that he had been in contact with the state director of economic development and also wrote letters to different government officials, trying to get information on how to get businesses to move into the Pattonsburg community. He indicated that he was making progress.
An Aflac representative asked the board’s approval to talk to the employees about insurance policies. The board gave approval, stating that it was up to the employee to decide if he or she wanted the insurance.
In regards to the Green Hills Summer Work Program, the board said they only need someone to help with mowing and odd maintenance jobs this summer.
Bryan Teel asked to rent a lot in the old town on the east side of Hwy. 69 where the Honda shop used to be. The board has not yet given an answer.
The board carried a motion for the city to pay for the repair to the handicap ramp in front of the clinic.
The board carried a motion that the Public Supply Water Supply District Contract for 2007 needs to be resolved immediately, that the water district needs to accept the contract that was offered and pay the past due amount that is owed or the matter will be resolved in a court of law. The city will also be looking for alternative customers for their water product.
Chris Gardner asked the board if there could be something done with the drainage problem west of his garage, which is due to land construction north of his property. The city told him they would look into the problem and try to get it resolved as soon as possible.
Water Superintendent Eddy Meador informed the council that all of the wells are up and running.
