The Trojanettes 10 and under team recently took first place in the St. Joe Showdown Tournament held May 17 and 18 in St. Joseph. The team went 5-0 overall. They are coached by Shanda Stockton (King City) and Emily McCampbell (Albany).

Team members include: Brookyln Stoll (Conception), Kristen Nielson (Barnard), Ryan Warren (Savannah), Kylie Collins (Gallatin), Kelsey McQuinn (Conception), Amber Thaler (Savannah), Vanessa Holtman (Conception), Brittany Walters (King City), Allison Hilsabeck (Barnard), Sarah Chor (Conception), Hailey Hughes (King City), and Jessica Henry (Conception).

On Saturday, the Trojanettes faced the Red Hots in the first round of pool play. Walters pitched a no hitter for the team tallying up nine strikeouts and only allowed one walk. Henry, Nielson, Holtman, Walters, and Hughes were the leading hitters for the game. Henry and Hilsbeck drove in two runs each while Nielson, McQuinn and Chor each drove in one. Walters doubled in the contest. The Trojanettes won with a final of 10-0.

Collins was the winning pitcher in the second round of pool play action against the Lookouts with four strikeouts, two walks, and allowed four hits. Henry, Nielson, Stoll, McQuinn, and Holtman were the leading hitters for the game. Holtman hit a double driving in one run while Nielson hit a homerun driving in two runs for the Trojanettes. Henry and McQuinn each singled driving in one run a piece. The Trojanetttes recorded their second win with an 8-3 victory.

In the final pool play matchup, the Trojanettes gained their third win of the day with a 14-0 shutout against the Outlaws. Walters recorded her second no hitter for the day tallying up 15 strikeouts and allowing five walks. Leading hitters for the game were Warren, Collins, Stoll, Hilsabeck, Holtman, and Nielson. Collins, Henry, and Holtman each drove in one run while Nielson, Stoll, and Hilsabeck each drove in two. Nielson hit two doubles in the game as well as her second homerun for the day. Hilsabeck also doubled in the matchup.

On Sunday, the Trojanettes faced the Lookouts in the first round of tournament play. Walters held the duties on the mound with eight strikeouts, three walks, and allowed two hits. Warren, Collins, Henry, Nielson, Holtman, and Hughes were the leading hitters for the Trojanettes. Collins drove in three runs, Hilsabeck added two, and Henry and Holtman each added one. The Trojanettes won the contest with a final of 9-3.

The Trojanettes came out on top in the championship game with a 12-0 victory over the Red Hots. Collins was the winning pitcher striking out five, allowing no walks, and gave up three hits. Nielson and Stoll each had two hits in the contest tallying up three RBI’s each. Collins and Hughes each had one hit and one RBI each. Warren, McQuinn, Hilsabeck, Thaler, and Holtman each contributed a single in the contest.

The Trojanettes will continue their season May 30-June 1 at the Blue Valley Sports Complex in Overland Park, Kan.
