Ryan Page 19, Jamesport, received minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at about 11:25 a.m. on May 27 on Rt V, about five miles southwest of Jamesport.

According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as Mr. Page was driving a 2005 Ford Ranger southbound on Rt. V. After negotiating a curve to the west, his vehicle traveled off the west side of the roadway, overcorrected, and re-entered the roadway, skidding across both lanes of traffic. The vehicle then traveled off the east side of the roadway and struck an embankment. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its top, partially blocking the northbound lane of Rt.. V.
Mr. Page was taken to Grundy County Hospital by private vehicle. He was wearing his seat belt.
The Ranger was totaled and towed by Huston’s Towing of Jamesport.
The accident was investigated by Sgt. M.A. Ott, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
Summons pending.
Viola Swofford, 88, Gallatin, received moderate injuries in an accident at about 1:55 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21 on Hwy. 6 at 239th Street, east end of the city limits.
According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, Mrs. Swofford was driving a 1996 Buick pickup westbound on Hwy. 6. Her vehicle struck a 1997 Mack dump truck in the rear. The truck, driven by Danny Noble, 51, of New London, Iowa, was stationary facing westbound in the construction zone on Hwy. 6.
Mrs. Swofford was taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center. She was wearing her seat belt.
The pickup was extensively damaged and towed by Bridgeman’s Towing of Altamont. The dump truck was not damaged and was driven from the scene.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. R. Sherman, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department and the Gallatin Fire Department.
