James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting that they will be making repairs to culverts and bridges this week.
Bills were audited and paid.
Due to the Monday Memorial Day holiday next week, the commission will meet on Tuesday, May 27.
A trustee for the Village of Altamont met with the commission with questions regarding assistance for culvert replacement. The commission cannot assist with this matter because towns receive their own CART, gas tax funds.
D.J. and Cheryl Bonderer, Liberty Township, met with the commission regarding improvements to a road near their farm.
Larry Hadley, regional jail, met with the commission regarding mutual concerns.
Kevin Heldenbrand, sheriff, met with the commission reporting that he had received a $12,000 grant for new radios.
The commission contacted Missouri Department of Transportation regarding the width of the shoulders on the new upgrade installed on Highway 6. The state will widen the shoulder as originally agreed.
Cheryl Alexander and Debbie Heldenbrand met with the commission regarding the planning of an emergency shelter simulation training exercise. Ms. Alexander also returned our copy of the executed lease agreement with the Daviess County Health Department.
A 3:30 p.m., the commission attended the presentation by Kevin Corwin, of his Eagle Scout project, a flag disposal box, to the county. The box is located in the lobby of the courthouse.

Sheriff’s Department
Charles Bullock, 58, Lawrence, Kan., was arrested May 19 for possession of controlled substance, cocaine, class C felony, and two misdemeanors, no valid license and speeding. He posted $35,000 bond.
William Baum, 38, Kearney, was arrested May 26 for driving while revoked, class D felony, and failure to drive on right half of roadway. He is being held on $15,000 bond.
Betsy Young Jo Bonin, 33, Eagan, Minn., was arrested May 25 on a probation violation for an original felony charge of possession of controlled substance. Bond was denied.
Associate Circuit Court
Terry L. Pullen, Maysville, was charged May 21 with one count of felony non-support.
Amado H. Vicente-Morales, Carthage, was charged May 23 with leaving the scene of accident, class D felony, and two misdemeanors, no valid license and driving wrong direction on divided highway, resulting in accident.
Traffic Fines
The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $522.50 for six tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $592.50 for six cases. Court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $685.50 for six moving traffic violations. Missouri defendants, offenses and fines are listed below:
No insurance: David M. Ramsey, Cameron, $103.50.
No seat belt: Gorden L. Wray, Jamesport, $10.
Vision reducing material: Santos E. Sanchez, Milan, $28.50.
Speeding amended to defective equipment: Robert D. Kirk, Turney, $200; Mirsad Dzilic, Kansas City, $143.50.
Failure to drive on right half amended by prosecuting attorney: Justin T. Fuller, Kansas City, $200.
Civil Court
Promissory note: A default judgment was entered for Heights Finance and against Charles and Christine Boren.
Suit on account: A default judgment was entered for NCO Portfolio and against Jeff S. Hulett.
Marriage
David Eugene Brown and Kathryne Ann Ashworth, both of Trenton, were married May 22 by Judge Daren L. Adkins.
Circuit Court
Law Day proceedings were conducted by Judge Warren McElwain on May 20. The following cases were heard:
Probation was revoked for Christopher M. Fredenburg for DWI, alcohol, persistent offender, class D felony. The previously imposed sentence of four years in the Department of Corrections was executed.
Brian Habelitz was sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections for burglary second degree, class C felony. The court retains jurisduction and recommends institutional treatment. For theft/stealing, class A misdemeanor, he received 30 days in the regional jail; for property damage second degree, he received 15 days in the regional jail; for resisting arrest for a felony, he received a suspended imposition of sentence and five years probation.
Jessica A. Walton admitted probation violations. Probation was revoked and she was sentenced to three years in the Department of Corrections, to run consecutively with four-year sentence currently being served. The charge was assault second degree, class C felony.
Scott M. Schwartz admitted probation violations. Probation was revoked, and the previously imposed sentence of 10 years in the Department of Corrections was executed. The charge was robbery second degree, class B felony.
Jaime Odom, Jamsport, plead guilty to possession of a controlled substance, class C felony. The sentence assessment report was waived, and he was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections, execution of sentence suspended. He received five years probation, which will include 30 days of in-patient treatment. Odom also plead guilty to domestic assault second degree, class C felony, and domestic assault, third degree, class A misdemeanor. He received a suspended imposition of sentence on each count and two years probation, which will include successful completion of anger management classes.
Andrew K. McBroom, Gallatin, plead guilty to burglary second degree, class C felony; property damage, class B misdemeanor; two counts of stealing, class C felony; and tampering with motor vehicle, class C felony. A sentence assessment report was ordered.
Jamie Trimble plead guilty to amended charges of driving while intoxicated, class A misdemeanor; operating vehicle with no valid license, class A misdemeanor; and endangering welfare of a child, class A misdemeanor. On the first count, the sentence was 60 days in the regional jail, execution of sentence suspended, and two years probation. Probation will include 10 days in the regional jail. On the last two counts, the defendant received a suspended imposition of sentence and two years probation.
Thomas J. Everman admitted probation violations. Probation was revoked, and he received four years in the Department of Corrections on each of two felony counts of non-support, sentences to run consecutively. The execution of sentence was suspended, and he received five years probation., conditions to include 10 days shock probation in the regional jail.
Joseph J. Taub admitted probation violations, and his probation was continued with an additional condition of 30 days shock probation in the regional jail. The original charge is felony possession with intent to distribute.
The sentence assessment report for Luiz Herivelto Fernandes was filed. He was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections, execution of sentence suspended. He received five years probation, with conditions to include serving 45 days in the regional jail. The charge was possession of controlled substance, class C felony.
Probation was continued for Robert B. Wilson on original charges of burglary, class C felony, and tampering with service of utility, class C felony.
Michael L. King plead guilty to driving without a valid license, class D felony, and a sentence assessment report was ordered.
The court sustained a motion for change of judge by Robert Dennis Sutton, and the case was transferred to Judge Stephen K. Griffin. Sutton is charged with DWI, alcohol, aggravated offender, class C felony, as well as four misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
On May 14, driving privilege reinstatement was granted to Steven Lynn King by Trish Vincent, Director of Revenue.
