County Commission

James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting that they are making repairs to the crane prior to driving piling on the bridge under construction in Washington Township.

Dave Wilson, Gallatin Revitalization, met with the commission reporting on final details of the flag disposal project.

Reta Rains, collector-treasurer, met with the commission regarding the abatement of a portion of a personal valuation in Colfax Township. The taxes were paid in April and have already been dispersed. The commission approved the repayment of the tax when enough collections have been made. They also discussed shelving at the storage facility at 609 S. Main.

Bills were audited and paid.

Melvin McFee and Lewis Youtsey, Jefferson Township, met with the commission concerning the 2008 CART program. They also discussed the condition of the culverts in the township. James Lewis will inspect.

Cheryl Alexander, Daviess County Health Department, met with the commission with questions regarding the lease. She also discussed the next LEPC meeting agenda.

Daren Adkins, associate circuit judge, notified the commission of a grant awarded by the state for video arraignments for prisoners.

The commission inspected 2-inch rock at the quarry in the afternoon. Also, they made an inspection at Lake Viking Care Center. A new generator and sprinkler system have been installed since the last inspection.

Associate Circuit Court

Traffic Fines

The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $640.50 for seven tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $592.50 for six cases. Court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $56.50 for 16 moving traffic violations. Missouri defendants, offenses and fines are listed below:

Speeding: Jerome Barnes, Raytown, $88.50.

Small Claims

Two cases were dismissed: Appraisal Pros LLC vs. Dirk Moss d/b/a Signature Mortgage; Appraisal Pros LLC vs. Pride Real Estate Lending.

Sheriff’s Dept.

Shaun M. Dutro, 30, Coffey, had been charged May 9 with child molestation first degree, class B felony. He was arrested May 19 and posted $50,000 bond.

Porter Fensel, 20, and Rubin Fierros, 20, both of Maricopa, Ariz., were arrested May 16 for possession of controlled substance, cocaine, class C felony. They are each being held on $35,000 bond.

Kyle Kieler, 20, Bevington, Iowa, was charged May 17 with misdeameanor driving while intoxicated and minor in possession. He posted $1,000 bond.

Tony Buckler, 38, Dearborn, was arrested May 19 for failure to appear on a class D felony charge of non-support. He posted $1,000 bond.

Jon C. Gundy, 23, Princeton, was arrested May 19 for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He posted $500 bond.
