Graveside services for Harold Adams will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield. Military honors will be provided by the Bravo Team.

Interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. tonight (Wednesday) at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Harold Edward Adams, 78, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at his home in Buffalo.
Mr. Adams, was the son of Charles Wilbur Adams and Nannie Bryant (Taul) Adams, born Aug. 20, 1929, in Waukomis, OK.
Mr. Adams moved with his family to Missouri at the age of three. They lived at various locations in north Missouri, including the Daviess County area. He graduated from Weston High School in 1948.
Mr. Adams was united in marriage to Dorothy Tingler on July 9, 1950, in St. Joseph.
He was drafted into the Army and served in Korea from 1951 to 1953, and was awarded the Korean service medal with two bronze stars, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Following the war, Mr. Adams and his family settled in California. During his working career he was a farmer, machinist, business owner, and a teacher in the Department of Corrections. He also worked for some time at the University of California in various positions supporting national projects in astronomy and national defense. He retired as a stationary engineer with the Department of Corrections in the state of California in 1990.
Mr. Adams was active in the Boy Scouts of America and started a boy scout troop and had taught wood badge to adults. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Dorothy Rae Adams, one brother, Claude Marvin Adams; one sister, Lucille Post, and a half brother, Charles Edward Adams.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy of the home; two sons, Harold Dean Adams of Modesto, CA, and David Adams of Sparks, NV; one daughter, Kathy Anderson of Fresno, CA; his brothers and sisters, John Glenn Adams of San Jose, CA, Jessie Couchman of Rushville, Charlene Ruano of Scotts Valley, CA, Herman Adams of Dalhart, TX, Freda Mae Tull of Mt. Vernon, and Dorothy Post of St. Joseph; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
