County Commission
James Lewis, bridge supervisor, reported that they will work in Harrison Township on a low water crossing this week and a bridge deck in Washington Township.
Bills were audited and paid.
The commission attended a Court en Banc with the 43rd Judicial Circuit County Commissioners and the judges of the circuit on April 1. There was discussion on courtroom security. No action was taken.
Dave Weldon, Harrison Township Board Member, met with the commission regarding culverts in that township. The commission will inspect.
At 1:30 p.m. as advertised, bids were opened for BRO Project 29 in Benton Township. Six bids were received. Bob Burnett, Snyder and Associates, was present to administer the process, making certain that all the bids and bid bonds were in proper form. The bids ranged from $808,599.91 to 639,687.73. The engineer’s estimate was $760,551.90. The apparent low bid was from Boone Construction. Mr. Burnett will review the bids and make a recommendation for acceptance.
The commission reviewed the health insurance renewal forms. The premium increase was computed at nine percent. The renewal was accepted and an executed copy will be sent to the agent.

Circuit Court
Civil cases filed: Vernon Hanes and Vernon Hanes, trustee of Vernon Lee Hanes revocable trust, plaintiffs, vs. Smithfield Foods, Inc., Premium Standard Farms LLC, Premium Standard Farms Inc., Contigroup Companies, Inc., PSF Group Holdings Inc., and KC2 Real Estate LLC, defendants. The plaintiff is charging temporary nuisance, negligence, and trespass, and has entered a demand for a jury trial.

A dissolution of marriage was granted to Michael Brent Heldenbrand from Michele L. Heldenbrand on April 9. Respondent’s former name Cervant was restored.
Sheriff’s Dept.
Jay L. Thomas, Bethany, was arrested April 12 for felony no valid license. He posted $15,000 bond.
Christopher Fredenburg, 35, Kansas City, was arrested April 14 on a probation violation for felony DWI and driving while revoked. He was picked up after a Department of Corrections release on an outstanding Daviess County warrant. Bond was denied.
Leonel Juarez Castillo, 22, Merriam, Kan., was charged April 12 with misdemeanor no valid license. He posted $150 bond.
James Gross, 25, Gallatin, was arrested April 12 for misdemeanor DWI and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. He posted $1,200 bond.
Michael Yang, 23, Fond Du Lac, Wis., was arrested April 14 for misdemeanor no valid license. He posted $500 bond.
Terry Huston, 41, Kansas City was charged April 14 with failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge of no valid license. He is being held on $558 bond.
Associate Circuit Court
Paula Delp, Jamesport, was charged April 10 with passing bad checks, class C felony.
Defendants found guilty in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County are listed below with the offense and fine assessed. Additionally, courts costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $66.50 for moving traffic violations and $114.50 in most criminal cases.

Jesse A. Salmon, Polo, two counts of driving while revoked, 48 hours jail and $25 fine on each count; two counts of no seat belt, $10 fine on each count.

The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $536.50 for 10 tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $571 for 10 cases.
