The Gallatin R-5 Concert Band received an overall I rating at the State Festival at Northwest Missouri State University on April 4.

They received I rating on all of their prepared pieces and I rating on sight-reading. There were 29 1A and 2A schools participating at the festival. Gallatin was only one of eight schools to receive an overall I rating. Eleven schools received II ratings, eight received III ratings and two schools received IV ratings. Gallatin achieved this honor with 68% of their 52 band members being seventh, eighth and ninth grade students.
