Already there is something to celebrate as Gallatin has lost over 1,000 pounds, according to Mary Jarboe, leader for Weight Watchers.
The program started in Gallatin on January 9 with about 100 members signing up. About 50-60 people check in each week, and about 40 stay for the meetings.
The Daviess County Health Department and the Gallatin Christian Church helped to get the organization started in this community.
The health department recorded several people’s cholesterol prior to starting the program and then again in the past couple of weeks. Each client saw an improvement.
Other members have commented that they are wearing two sizes smaller and have more energy.
Several members have met their 10% goal of weight loss.
