William Powell,64, Princeton, father of Wendy Wilson of Gilman City, was fatally injured in an accident in which he was a passenger on Sunday, March 30.

Mr. Powell is the grandfather of Jacob Wilson, husband of Cindy Burke Wilson, formerly of Gallatin.
According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 8:10 p.m. as Ryan Harris was traveling southbound on Hwy. 65 at the south end of Spickard. He crossed the center line and struck a vehicle driven by Ila Powell head on.
Mrs. Powell, 65, Princeton, received moderate injuries and was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital by Grundy Ambulance Service.
Mr. Powell, husband of the driver, was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead by Coroner Tom Eads.
Mr. Harris, 30, Unionville, received serious injuries and was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital by Grundy County Ambulance Service.
Mr. and Mrs. Powell were wearing their seat belts. It is unknown whether Mr. Harris was wearing his seat belt.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. C. Acree, assisted by Sgt. S. Skoglund, Sgt. G. Billings, the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department, the Grundy County Ambulance, and the Spickard Volunteer Fire Department.
