The Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association has released names of all-state basketball players for Classes 1 through 5, including several from the area.

In Class 1, KJ Cool and Canaan Fairley represent Newtown-Harris and the HDC Conference on the all-state list. Cool is a first team selection and Fairley was a second team pick. Monica Wilson of Gilman City is a repeat selection to the Class 1 girls list. She was named to the first team. Stanberry’s Marci Luke was a second team pick in Class 1.
Hamilton’s state champion girls are represented by first team pick Lindsay Vollmer, a freshman, and senior Taryn Bruce, a second team selection. Lady Hornet Coach David Prather was named Class 2 Girls Coach of the Year.
South Harrison’s Kelsey Butler was also a second team pick in Class 2.
The Class 2 boys list includes senior Erick Roe of West Platte (first team) and senior Tommy Underwood of South Harrison (second team).
South Harrison’s boys finished 10th in the final Class 2 poll. Gilman City’s girls were ranked 8th in the final Class 1 poll. The Newtown-Harris boys finished 5th in the Class 1 poll.
