Lake Viking Health Care Center

The Winston Methodist Church held services on Palm Sunday, March 16. There was a good number of residents that attended. On Tuesday, March 18, LaVaughn Thomson held the fellowship service. Thursday, March 20, the Baptist Church held the devotion service along with special music.
This was a very busy but fun week. The residents helped fill over 400 plastic eggs with candy for our Easter egg hunt on Saturday morning. To our dismay we ran out of eggs. There were kids everywhere that showed up to hunt eggs, which was great; however, next year, we will have double the eggs that we had this year. Daisy and Donald Duck did a great job interacting with the kids. We appreciate Vera Nelson and James Hann who were swarmed by over 100 kids.
Friday, March 22, we had an Easter Bonnet Parade. Several employees wore hats that were made by the residents. First prize winner was Brian Maratt, our maintenance man, who was such a good sport and joined right in. Second prize went to Sharon Appley who made her hat. She decorated a pink cowboy hat with flowers and seed packets. Also on Saturday afternoon, the Seventh Day Adventist Church presented a music program which was enjoyed by all. Easter Sunday service was held by Lake Viking Church. Song service was held by Rev. Robert Nelson who played his guitar and Jodee and Maria Bickford helped lead the singing. Rev. Nelson brought a very inspirational sermon, “He is Risen.”
On March 18 the ladies from the Pattonsburg First Baptist Church delivered cookies.

The First Presbyterian Church will hold the March birthday party on March 27.
