On Thursday, March 20, the Gallatin Police Department arrested Stephen E. McQuinn, 52, of Gallatin on charges of burglary, stealing and trespassing.

Also arrested was Brian J. Habelitz, 29, of Gallatin on charges of burglary, stealing, trespassing and resisting arrest.
The charges were the result of an investigation conducted on Wednesday, March 19, and into the early morning hours of March 20. After receiving a report of property damage going on at 601 West Grand in Gallatin, Chief Richards responded, setting up to observe the area.
Approximately one hour later two men exited an apartment at 701 West Grand and walked to the apartments at 601 West Grand where Chief Richards observed the two men enter and remove items from the building.
When contacted by Chief Richards one of the subjects fled on foot south, into and through the building. Stephen McQuinn was arrested at the scene. Brian Habelitz was arrested later at 701 West Grand apartment #14.
Warrants were issued by the Daviess County Prosecuting Attorney on March 21. Both men are being held at the Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail at Pattonsburg.
