The annual Easter egg hunt will be held in Dockery Park on Saturday, March 22, according to the minutes from the park board’s regular meeting held Wednesday, Feb. 20.
The board will purchase $250-300 worth of items for the hunt. An ad will run in the paper for one week prior to the event.
Dates for a possible ribbon cutting ceremony for the walking trail were discussed. The Murray Family will be called to check the dates.
The ad for mowing bids was placed in The Ad Pages-West, and bids will be reviewed at the March meeting.
Mark Corwin received permission for the boy scouts to run the concession stands during the summer baseball season. He also received permission for the cub scouts to use the park building on April 10 for their annual Pine Wood Derby.
Cliff King addressed the board on behalf of his son Mitchell King. Mitchell has completed his Eagle Scout project. The board voted to reimburse him $479.87 for expenses on the project. Bradley Jones will finish his Eagle Scout project as the weather allows, and that will finish up all Eagle Scout projects in the park.
David McLey presented the treasurer’s report. Bills totaling $1,106.41 were paid.
Discussion was held on the outside shelter house.
Board member absences were discussed. A motion carried to excuse an absence for Terri Wright and Casey Griffin and two absences for Mike Butcher. The absences were due to illness and work issues. Attendance records will be sent to the city council regarding missed meetings.
The next park board meeting is March 20, 2008.
