The University of Missouri Extension Councils of Daviess and Caldwell Counties held a joint annual meeting on Feb. 25.
The meeting was held at and catered by Bill’s BBQ in Hamilton.
A highlight of the evening were 4-H general demonstrations by Breanne Brammer, Gallatin Knee-Hi 4-H Club, demonstrating how to make horse treats; Katherine Reed and Kathleen Clevenger, Achievers 4-H Club of Hamilton, demonstrating how to make crab rangoon; and Meredith Clevenger, Achievers 4-H Club of Hamilton, making her Working Man’s Quiche.
Tony DeLong, University of Missouri Extension, County Council Coordinator, spoke about the importance of the county council and its work with each county’s commissioners and the work that each group does in the community. DeLong energized the group for the year ahead of them thanked them for their continued support of Extension programming.
Special guests were Chris Cornelius, Lance Critten, Debbie Leeper and JoEllen McKinney, the recipients of inclusion in the University of Missouri Leaders Honor Roll. Members of the honor roll are recognized for going above and beyond expectations, while generously giving of their time and energy to MU Extension programs.
Daviess County Clerk Linda Steward swore in the newly elected council members who were present, they included Mary Gingerich, Lori McLaughlin, Nancy Snyder and Jerry Creason.
Also sworn in were appointed members Bud Motsinger and Gerald McBrayer.
Kevin Hansen is the County Program Director for Caldwell County, while Becky Simpson is the County Program Director for Daviess County.
