Following a pursuit that began on I-35 and continued southbound for 19 miles at speeds exceeding 100 mph, Dujuan C. Thompson, 20, Topeka, Kan., was arrested March 6 for possession of a controlled substance, class C felony, resisting arrest, class D felony, and three misdemeanors, operating vehicle without valid license, speeding, and failure to yield to emergency vehicle. The traffic stop had been initiated by a citizen complaint of careless driving. Thompson is being held on $45,000 bond.

Jeffrey Hall, 33, Liberty, was arrested March 10 for felony DWI and three misdemeanors, no valid license, failure to dim lights, and operating motor vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility. He is being held on $35,000 bond.

Megan Sperry, 23, was arrested March 10 for the class B felony of delivering a prohibited item at the county jail. She is being held on $35,000 bond.

Nathaniel Burnett, 52, Atchison, Kan., was charged March 6 with failure to appear on a no valid license charge. He is being held on $5,000 bond.

Robert Stegall, 47, Pevely, was arrested March 4 for passing bad checks, class C felony. He is being held on $35,000 bond.

Franklin Holcomb, 25, Chillicothe, was arrested March 5 for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge of possessing wildlife illegally. He posted $1,000 bond.

Mary Hamilton, 18, Trenton, was arrested March 7 for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia. She is being held on $500 bond.

Burglaries were reported by two Jamesport businesses, Gas Buggy Antiques and Carlyle=s, on March 7. Entry was gained in both cases by breaking the entrance door windows. At Gas Buggy, miscellaneous coins and jewelry was taken. At Carlyle=s, a computer was taken, as well as 15 display bottles of assorted liquors. The bottles contained only water.

County Commission

James Lewis, bridge supervisor, discussed routine matters with the commission

Joe Reed and Dick Carpenter, Harrison Township, met with the commission regarding the improvement of a road in that township east of Lick Fork Cemetery. The township does not have adequate equipment to make the necessary repairs. The commission agreed to use the trackhoe to make repairs after the brush is removed. One-half of the base rock will be funded because of a prior agreement regarding this road.

Dale Dixon, Shafer, Kline and Warren, engineering firm, met with the commission to inspect the public restrooms. He will write bid specifications for remodeling to ADA standards. He will also include the private restrooms.

The commission adjourned at 10 a.m. to travel to Jefferson City to attend a hearing on proposed legislation concerning per diem costs of prisoners.

Associate Circuit Court

Rex E. Hagan, Bethany, and Robert J. Durham, Unionville, were charged March 10 with non-support, class D felony.

Defendants found guilty in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County are listed below with the offense and fine assessed. Additionally, court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $66.50 for moving traffic violations and $114.50 in most criminal cases.

Bart Pliley, Jamesport, assault, suspended imposition of sentence, 2 years probation.

Justin L. Hauk, Atchison, Kan., possession of marijuana, 8 days jail, $25 fine.

Christopher L. Curd, Independence, possession of marijuana, 2 days jail (board bill paid by defendant), abuse and lose order; failure to drive within right lane, $143.50.

Aaron R. Trager, Hamilton, driving while intoxicated, suspended imposition of sentence, two years probation, six months probation.

Jamie W. Loucks, Atchison, Kan., take antlered deer from public roadway, $239.50; take over limit of antlered deer, $118.; non-resident purchased resident permit, $64.50; non-resident take antlered deer on resident permit, $289.50.

Gordon Marks, Riverside, fishing without permit, $21.

Jason W. Biwer, Solon, Iowa, possession of marijuana amended to non-operating, 2 days jail (board bill paid by defendant).

Charles S. Batalia, Gallatin, domestic assault, suspended imposition of sentence, two years probation, 6 days shock jail.

Trevor W. Hunter, Jameson, minor in possession of liquor, suspended imposition of sentence, 2 years probation, 30 hours community service, abuse and lose order.

Scotty G. Curtis, Altamont, speeding 91 mph in 55 mph zone, 48 hours jail (board bill paid by defendant), $250 fine.

John T. Eskridge, Gallatin, probation violation of five counts of theft/stealing, probation revoked, one year jail on each count, concurrent to each other and consecutive to all other sentences.

Sandra Muth, Gallatin, driving while intoxicated, suspended imposition of sentence, two years probation, failure to drive on right half of roadway, $38.50.

Stephen L. Borg, Valdaralso, IN, no valid license, $150; no seat belt, $10.

Calvin R. McDaniel, West Memphis, Ark., possession of marijuana, 48 hours jail, $25 fine.

Brandon Archer, Winston, resisting arrest, 60 days jail, $25 fine.

Stephanie Smetana, Kansas City, possession of marijuana, 5 days jail, (board bill paid by defendant), $25 fine, abuse and lose order; possession of paraphernalia, 5 days jail, (board bill paid by defendant), $25 fine.

The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $1,385.50 for 19 tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $1,056.50 for 21 cases. Civil Court

Breach of Contract: Two default judgments were entered, for Capital One Bank and against Rhonda S. Lovell; for Capital One Bank and against Maxine M. Goforth. One case, Unifund CCR vs. Florence C. Hindman, was dismissed by the court without prejudice.

Suits on account: A consent judgment was entered for Midwestern Health and against Lena M. Kirk. A default judgment was entered for Midwestern Health and against Gordon and Kendra Comer.

Circuit Court

Civil cases filed: Travelers Commercial Casualty Co. vs. Perry Detweiler, breach of contract;

State of Missouri vs. Joseph D. Omeara, petition for forfeiture of cash and personal property seized in commission of drug-related crime. If granted, the money ($4,504) would go to Daviess County schools.

A dissolution of marriage was granted to Stephanie Brownlee from Christopher Brownlee on March 6.

In John Beechner vs. Lois Beechner, the dissolution of marriage was dismissed, due to the death of the respondent.
