The annual Richmond Music Festival was held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at Richmond Middle School.

Gallatin had 27 instrumental solo entries, two small instrumental ensembles from grades five through 12 and a large instrumental ensemble (band) comprised of students from grades seven through nine attend and compete for ratings.

Tara Tairent, Band Booster president, and Michelle Ray, Band Booster vice-president organized parental assistance (bus chaperones, home room monitors, etc.) and pizza and soda for the students at lunch time. Piano accompanists who gave of their time to play for the students this year were Ann Wood, Sharon Burke, Diane Barnes and Sue Bird. Elementary school principal Toni Cox was present to help and assist during the day as well.

The band received a I rating. Rating results for solos and small ensembles for the day are as follows: I Ratings: E.J. Owings, Andrew Carder, Truett Ray, Titus Ray, Gabby Gibson, Sara Lin, Derek Brogan, Johnnie Dale, Kaley Cox, Chelsea Carlton, Desirae Harris, Daniel Argyle, Chad Robertson, Bethany Harris.

II + Ratings: Daniel Argyle, Devin Hall, Michael Youd, Patrick McBroom, Andrew Michael, Harrison Pettit, Taylor Servaes. II Rating: Robbie Carder.

I Ratings: Percussion trio (Hall, Hanson, Johnson): trumpet quartet (Corwin, Avriette, Turley, Ray); Anthony Esposito, Preston Redman, Kaitlyn Hefley, Dane Brammer, Jack Malo.
