Alma Wilson, 93, passed Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at the Cameron Regional Medical Center. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Family visitation was one hour prior to service. Interment was at Hillcrest Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gallatin Senior Citizens Center.

Alma was born Feb. 4, 1915 to William and Mildred (Painter) Amos in Plattsburg, Mo. She attended and graduated from High School in Lathrop, Mo.
Alma was united in marriage to Jesse B. Wilson on Feb. 10, 1936 in Kingston, Mo. He preceded her in death Nov. 12, 1961. The couple purchased a farm west of Gallatin in 1942 where they lived and raised their three boys.
Alma was employed at the Pattonsburg Cap Factory for two years and the Lambert Cap Factory for 10 years. She later worked at the Daviess County Care Center as a Nurses Aid for four years. Alma was instrumental in the organization of the kitchen and worked as a cook at the Daviess County Senior Citizens Center for several years. She later was hired by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy and Dispatcher on Jan. 1, 1977 and retiring in February of 1991 after 14 years of dedicated service to the public.
Alma raised a big garden and enjoyed sharing vegetables with her family and friends. She was always eager to lend a hand when needed and never shied away from hard work. She truly was a loving and giving person. Alma loved her family and spent as much time as possible with them, especially her grandchildren, Lance, Brent and Courtney.
Alma was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother Floyd, and her grandson Brent.
Survivors include her three sons, J. B. Wilson and wife Joyce, Diamond City, Ark., Dean Wilson and wife Linda, Liberty, Mo., Bill Wilson and wife Cheryl, Kansas City, Mo.; and two grandchildren Lance Wilson of Gallatin and Courtney Wilson of Kansas City, Mo.
