Supervisor Carder and all the dispatchers present thanked them for the recognition, and commented that it was nice to hear positive feedback and acknowledgment for their dispatching efforts.
Jamesport Fire Chief Allen Fender told the board that the Jamesport Fire District was applying for a grant for a repeater station at Jamesport. He inquired about the possibility of Daviess County Central running and maintaining the repeater after it was installed.
The board supported their efforts to obtain a repeater tower and asked Mr. Fender to come back when the grant was awarded and the particulars of his request were known.
The treasurer’s report was presented and accepted by the board with bills of $4,766.44; revenue of $19,705.01; and a checkbook balance of $62,247.43.
Mrs. Carder advised that Larry Belshe had signed up for board chairman for the April, 2008, election and that Jerry Urton had signed up for District 1 board member. No one had signed up for board member for District 2.
Mrs. Carder presented a bill from the Livingston County Water Supply District for the last five years for $500, reflecting a $100 per year fee for the use of the water tower for the Lock Springs area repeater. The fee was agreed upon in 2003, when the repeater tower was installed.
The budget was discussed and revised and accepted by the board.
An ad will be placed in the paper for temporary work from April to October for sign replacement at .40 ½ cents per mile and $8 per sign replaced.
The above are the unapproved minutes of the 9-1-1 Board’s regular meeting held on Jan. 24. Present were Larry Belshe, John Sullenger, Gene Walker, Daniel Skinner and Mark Richards. Absent were Troy Souders and Misse Tolen, who arrived at 6:48.
